Ive got a CF-19 Mk4, I use quite oftern a small USB WiFi dongle BUT theres a poss. chance that i'll loose it or forget to remove it, throw laptop in rucksack and damage the USB port

Does anyone know if exists a short PCMCIA USB Card that can be slotted in, the USB WiFi dongle plugged in and the PCMCIA door closed ?

    Thanks

@Liteace flush usb pcmcia + nano usb wi-fi is as compact as it gets. Case can easily be removed from the wi-fi adapter, however I doubt you will get good reception with door shut, and not sure whether it will fit behind the door at all. Connecting antennae to the card proposed by @Shawn is probably a better idea, even though it is extremely outdated.

the easiest way (overall) to solve this is to go with an internal wifi card .
they are not going to break the bank on price .
the first time it prevents the sound of a usb or other port snapping and crunching , it will have more than paid for itself .
hmmm ... better make sure the bios supports the use of an internal card .

My CF does have internal card, the USB wifi dongle is for a piece of equipment thats for automotive data-logging, its plug and play when the software is installed, I'll have a play to see if I can get the internal card to coms with the equiment

    Thanks

man , i can't think of why the wifi would not talk to the one in the comp ...
maybe it was to allow access to the network at the same time ?
but that does not seem likely .

The software probably has a built in driver for that exact dongle. Makes it plug n play.
Odds are the software will work with the built in one. May need to change something in the programs settings though.

If the software is stand alone OS, it may be Linux based and only have that USB dongle driver installed.
