Could you or somebody please explain to me what is happening, and what this will do? I do not know about the programing stuff very well at all!
Thanks alot! -
its "ieplore" and thats windows internet explorer (most likely 7.0). thats a windows issue, nothing to do with a toughbook btw. stupid windoze

It must be me, or Windows. Every freakin computer I have ever had has at some time given me those END PROGRAM stuff when I am trying to shut down. Just today my Verizon program did it? Very frustrating in the fact I have to sit and watch to make sure it shuts down without any problems.

I'm not sure if I am correct on this but it makes sense in my mind... (And that in itself is scary!) Win XP and some programs have a time-out prior to shutdown. There are timers for these programs in the registry. I think XP has a time limit of 20 seconds so that it should give every program time to shut down. Some programs clash with this timing, thus the error message(s).
If I am incorrect in my explanation someone please clobber me over the head with a lead pipe. -
Well, no... Windows will attempt to automatically shut down any processes that are still open when the shutdown command is given. The problem is, with some programs, if there is a dialog box open waiting for input from the user (you), they don't want to shut down and send back ANOTHER message/dialog box to Winblows asking the user to decide what to do, which ALSO holds up shutdown of Windows. This happens a LOT with Internet Exploder; some website generates a popup/popunder window and it holds up shutdown of Windoze in exactly the fashion you describe. I recommend dumping Internet Explunder & using ANY other browser for a dozen security reasons; Firefox in particular does NOT suffer from this specific malady.
Otherwise, just make sure you shut IE down (and any related dialog boxes) before you shut down your pooter. Really, shutting down all applications manually before OS shutdown is a good practice anyhow.

Just like yesterday I got some error message from Adobe. I never even used Adobe while I had the pooter on. It has so much dialog with the error message my head was spinning! I will try to write down what it says next time so you guys can deciphere it for me............

Dang..... if I shut down either my pooter or shooter, I would have serious problems!!!
