Thought I'd have a bit of cheap fun and see what inexpensive accessories I could get for my card slots.

First up I can highly reccommend one of these old Mogo mice. Been using this for the last few days and it's surprisingly good. Fits nice and snug in the PC slot where it charges:

And here's an interesting one. For years I've wanted to try one of those external GPU adapter things so I went ahead and got one. Everything worked flawlessly first time. I was shocked actually:

Going to try some CAD and 3D modeling later to proper test it. Might download a game overnight too!
Anybody else here use their expansion slots??? I want to get more now![]()

I don't like the idea of PCMCIA mouse. Mouse always collects dirt and you insert that dirt deeply into your laptop.
ExpressCard to USB 3.0 adapters often get hot and eat battery. I would prefer USB hub in your (MK6+) case.Shawn likes this. -
Thanks for sharing your experiences with the different devices. There are a couple of members that I know of that use, or did use, the MoGo mouse. They all seemed to like it. Very handy.
I use an old Belkin draft N pcmcia wifi card now and again when have problems (like no built-in wifi card) with wifi, or lack of it, on units I work on. I also use a 2 port USB3 ExpressCard on different unit A/R.Rob2D likes this. -

It's close but it looks like a regular card but the top folds up. I looked everywhere for mine but got so many laptops don't know which one it's in and cannot remember what it's called. It can hold SD cards , credit cards
Found it . It's called a "Stashcard" . When I got mine they could be had for 5 bucks...not now.

My StashCard is stashed in PC Card slot, and has spots for 2 SD cards, which is what I keep in it.

Just wanted to say that the PCMCIA slot had to be one of the best things ever. So much ability to get a mouse, more USB ports, wireless, more graphics power, card readers, I’ve even seen RAM ones, and then even more USBs. Yeah there was some issues but overall s nice experience
