So how "tough" is a CF19?

Hi there, I have posted another question on here and while browsing thought I would ask another.

I have had a CF19 for about 6 months now, previously had a CF29 (which I sold to my old employer before I left) and have used a CF28 also.

I quite often use the CF19 outside, in the rain and damp without problem but how water resistant are the 19's? I notice the speaker type grill on the screen surround (at the bottom right)......... is that waterproof/resistant?

    Is the keyboard water-proof?

It has been dropped from about a metre before with no issues other than a tiny paint chip and been subject to a fair amount of water drops on the keyboard but always been carefull to close the screen down a little or angle it away from the rain, just in case.

    TIA
    Steve

We just had someone set theirs out in the rain... YouTube is filled with people who try to destroy the Toughbook... Most fail... Unless you start bringing out the 5.56mm and 7.62mm....

    Water? That's a Dell problem!

Well so far my cf-19 is a tuff little sucker. I have dropped it a couple times let it sit in the pouring rain, stood on it and probably some other things i cant think of.

It is a great machine gotta give panasonic props for making such great notebooks.

My CF-30 has been soaked head to toe twice while camping in the POURING RAIN... also I had a CF-29 that got dropped off the top of an 8 foot ladder once and also had a strap break on the sling case on this CF-29 machine... it landed in a puddle on a wet/soggy pizza at the crazy Western Illinois College campus - I rinsed it off in the sink and it was fine.
