The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

Don't bother. This guy's a 'tard; he was in here like 6 months ago or so, trolling us about the "inferior graphics" on a just-released CF-31. We told him that Toughbooks don't cater to the Gamer market and that his beloved HP Envy was an overhyped turd, so he wants payback.

    mnem
I humbly suggest that you keep your bullets in reserve for a target which is worthy of their expenditure.

I think what really scares them is how much better the graphics have jumped up on toughbooks the last few times, not on every model but optional. If it wasn't for price I would of got a CF-31 instead of the Alienware M11x R1 for travel gaming. Give it a few more years.

Quote: HTWingNut vbmenu_register("postmenu_8310012", true); / It concerns me that the Toughbook thread could win even second when all they do there is beat their chests and scream like apes and condescend on anyone that doesn't own a Toughbook. And considering the relatively low number of votes, this isn't getting the publicity it should have considering the number of hits especially the eGPU thread received (1.8 Million+ )

Folks, I feel we win, even if we lose. Paying it forward and helping others is more important to myself, and everyone I've met here since the Fall of 2011-thanks for all your insight!

    What he said.

If it wasn't for posts like this (and the others up there) the whole topic would be a waste of time and talent.

    Keeping it fun,

That's right Jeff , what I think is funny is many could not believe that the panasonic forum was in second place last week. I think we woke up the other forums members :D :D to get out and vote...I know most of our members have voted but if you look at how big these other thread are where is all them members . We are small compared to them. It goes to show you we stand behind our forum.
Good show of support guys no matter where we finish...:D

    What...?

C'mon guys...it's a laptop...I swear this thread is more fanatical than a lot of the Apple fanboy threads I've seen...

Laptops are just tools, no need to get worked up over them

Nice representative... violation of "forum rules". You know, I'm in the business of recommending machines for hundreds if not thousands of individuals and small businesses over the years, and many times Toughbooks. They are a very fine line of machines, just for unique situations. Although I would never point them your direction because of lack of respect of other users and machine brands. Not one brand fits all. Congrats on loss of dozens of sales.

    Nice insult.

I was never trolling, only because you guys were trying to convince everyone that nobody should own anything but a Toughbook, but it's hard to convince someone who thinks they're always right. Not every user needs a Toughbook, and not a single laptop fits every user's needs. My point was that there's more out there than a Toughbook and will fill someone's needs.

My original post in "the roundup" was clarified in a following post, and did not mean to paint such a broad brush across the Toughbook forum, but I guess that part was missed. There's a large number of users here that I respect and enjoy their enthusiasm. But select few that seem to believe that any user that doesn't own a Toughbook is an idiot.

I don't expect anything less than insults and attacks based on my response here from those "select few", despite a constructive and truthful reply post.

Closing thread before other forum members from outside this area feel the need to chime in and this gets way out of control.

It's not an "us" versus "them" as some Toughbook regulars visit other areas of the forum to lend advice and help.

And remember all, it's all about using the right tool for the job. If folks would remember this simple thing, there would be a lot less arguments about... tools.

BTW, this is a good time to review the forum rules.
