Hi all! I was just thinking that now that i have my laptop and now that everything is working (the new dvd player is in the post)... what is the next mod you think i should do to it? (and if its possible tell me links to the threads were is spoken about them).

My CF29 is the 1,2 Centrino, 12", touchscreen, 768Mb RAM and 40 HDD.

Maybe the 7200 HDD, maybe GPS...

Please give me your ideas to start because i really dont know yet what to do with it. :D

    Thank you in advance!

My first mod was adding RAM. Nice bump in speed.

My next mod was the Hitachi 100gig, 7200RPM hard drive. Quicker, quieter and cooler.

I'm really not sure where I'm going next. I got and installed the Billionton Bluetooth PCMCIA card and run all GPS needs through that. The Billionton card stows in the slot and will work with the cover closed.

I would really like to have a CDMA cellular data internal unit that I could use with all of the covers buttoned up. Right now I use a Sprint S720 PCMCIA card; but it sticks out of the side and requires that the cover be open.

Good luck, have fun with your 29, and mod it to exactly what You want.

I hope you can figure out some good mods. I've yet to get my paws on one to start screwing with :D

Here is how mods work though. What do you want in your Toughbook that you don't have now? Find something reasonable, and go from there!
