Hello, I have a Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 (Mk2), I have installed Windows 8.1 Pro 64-BIT and works well; but the integrated SD card reader don't work (the SD Card Reader is Ricoh). All the drivers that I try to install tell me "The latest driver is already installed".
How can I fix it?
Another thing, can I replace the hard disk with an SSD (Crucial M500 120gb) ?
Excuse me, but I don't speak english very well.

Welcome to the Panasonic Toughbook Forum
Yes you can replace the hard disk with an SSD . I have never used the Crucial M500 120gb but the Samsung, Kingston and Intel work great in the CF-19MK2. I have SSD's in all my 19's.nxdrd likes this. -

Thanks, do you know if Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 MK2 supports SATA II?

I don't think it does but if I am wrong someone for sure will correct me

in theory should support sata 2 (the hard disk controller Intel ICH8M supports SATA II, but Panasonic has limited the speed to SATA 1)

For the SD card reader, you know a solution? -

Yes it will support it and yes Panasonic did limit it's speed
No...sorry, not sure which driver I used but it works. Did you try a SD card in it ? -

try a low capacity sd card..it "may" not support sdhc...

My 19 MK2 model is getting sata II speeds and shows it in the intel matrix storage thing. It is version 7 I upgraded to the 8 version and it went down to sata I speeds so I restored the old matrix storage driver.
Funny thing my CF-30 with the same driver only shows sata 1 speeds. don't know if it is a fluke as Panasonic limits the speed for heat/endurance/reliability, but I'll take it. -

 I tried a 1gb sd but doesn't work

Did you install all the drivers from the Panasonic driver download site ?
SD Secure DLL Driver - (sda_1930_22_d061045.exe [0.29 mb]) -

go to programs intel matrix storage and run it. it will show you ports available and what is hooked up. if it is running generation II it should be sata II if it is generation I it is sata I

is that a statement or are you asking if it only supports sata I? When I checked I was using a Samsung spinpoint I think. It now has an intel ssd still reporting 2 speeds.
