I am trying to buy a second hand toughbook (ebay) for use as a outside GPS .
I belive a cf 18 or a cf19 would do the job as i need windows not a android o/s.
But before i buy one, have the older toughbooks got a sunlight readable screen on them??
PDA`s and chinese gps units are ok in cars but not outside.

They are sunlight almost readable :))
It's possible to get information, but it's not comfortable.
Though it's much-much better than standard laptop/tablet screens.

Also you have to understand CF-18 is 2.2kgs machine, and it's not so small.
Maybe it's better idea to get large screen "phone" like HTC Evo or Motorola Droid X :)
