So, I have my new HD. When you use a software program to backup, and reload onto to the new HD do they move the drivers as well? I was looking at a program called DriveImage.XML, which looks like it will work for me, but I can't tell if it does the drivers. If not, what is the best way to do that? Don't we have a link somewhere to all the drivers? CF-30 MKII.

DIX should transfer a copy of your entire drive seeing how your drivers are installed on the drive as well, they should get moved as well.

See the quick guide to cloning.
Cloning puts everything on the new HDD so that it is ready to run. It is basically a copy (including boot files and partition structure) with a few subtle changes so that Windows feels comfortable on the new HDD.

Cloning sounds like a good idea, but I dont have a USB enclosure. I have a new external HDD that I have never used... Would that work?

Why don't you just save your data, and just use your restore disks to reinstall windows on your new hard drive?
It takes more time, and you have to install all the microsoft updates and service packs and reinstall your applications and internet favourites and outlook messages etc.
I think sometimes that these cloning programs are geared at either businesses that can get your computer back and running quick, so that they make more money on the job
Or non technical users that don’t know what they are doing
Or company’s that have multiples of one model
I always do fresh installs, the restore disks make it easy as the drivers are installed during the restore
In the end your computer is back in a brand new state, which has the potential to be quicker and have less problems than before
