Main Topic Withdrawn after studying the service manual further. The Digitizer model has an extra port (CN19) for the digitizer where as the touchscreen model is missing this port. Unsure if touch would work without it all together but do not have the resources to experiment with that theory.

But while you're reading this, has anyone tried connecting any storage devices via the ZIF on the motherboard? Let's say something like this => http://www.amazon.com/Super-Talent-...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1331355353&sr=1-79

I just bought an (MK5) Extended Model Number is CF-18NDHZXVM
I was wondering if the motherboard in this digitizer would support a touchscreen without any McGuyvering involved. I doubt that it would be compatible, but this would be a huge plus to my use of the computer in tablet mode, I am tired of the iPad fans showing off their multi touch screens to me and giving my stylus strange looks. :p

I am wanting to say you can swap the motherboards and use the touch on it. I have a CF-18 that had a bad motherboard and I replaced it with a digitizer motherboard. The digitizer motherboard had the hookups for touch AND digitizer. I still have it put up but haven't swapped a caddy into it yet to make sure it worked.

My goal is to do it without replacing the motherboard. so if you could verify that the plugin on the digitizer supports the touchscreen that would be great! XD

I believe either Alex or Teo verified that this is not possible. Time to get used to using Azrial's search widget:
    "TEST site:forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic"
Replace "TEST" with your search information in your browser. Works a treat.

I love the "advanced search" of NBR for specifying particular search queries.
Now, I'm not trying to be "that guy", but I have to say, I type that into google, on the regular, for almost every site I frequent. I think I learned it from xda-dev>google search.
