Strangest thing I have seen, TB19 MK5A, Windows XP SP3, I lose the touch screen function when I don't have some type of network connectivity (wireless or wired). If I am connected to the network (wireless or wired) then I can use the stylus or my finger on the touch screen just fine. But as soon as I disconnect from the network the touch screen function goes away.

    Anyone seen anything like this?

    WHAT!?!? No way...

I'd start with re-imaging the machine from the factory recovery discs/partition!

    Yes, WAY...

Anyone else running XP SP3 on TB19 MK5A? Wondering what version of the drivers you're using?

I would really like to see your entries in HID from device manager.

And as Rob said a complete Panasonic factory restore is indicated.

One thing to try first. Shut down. Pull battery and power cord. Make several long cycles of the power switch.
Plug in power (no battery yet).
F2 into bios. Set to defaults and boot.
The idea being to un-scramble any conflicts.

    Definitely FWIW.

Is there any bios downgrade required to run XP on a Mk.5?
    Like the Mk.1 has for upgrade/downgrade Vista/XP?
Can't remember exact details but my Mk.1 touchpad wouldn't scroll in webpages but would scroll in win explorer before I upgraded bios for W7.

I know I could get CF-19A XP disks for mine. I choose the W7 disks as they are much more usefull to me, but I bought the disks from the European service centre in Cardiff UK.
But I would try the suggestions by Sadlmkr, he's toooo often right :D

There has to be something wrong with the way it was loaded... Maybe it was loaded up from a networked RIS server incorrectly or something.

Reload man! Reload. It will fix the problem!

    Totally. What Rob said.

It will look more like this. Granted this is W7.

Problem resolved without reimaging the system.

Seems there are some global settings in our Symantec (Managed) Anti-Virus server that was causing the problem. Once the settings were turned off (our security team hasn't revealed the particular settings) the touch screen works just fine with or without network connectivity.

If I can get some more info on the settings I will post them.
