looked at the stickies referring to the TSPM cursor hiding after trying to touch various locations on the screen. However, my TSPM was working absolutely fine until I tried to calibrate it to try to get some more accuracy with my finger. It goes through the 9 points on the screen during the calibration, and it responds just fine, however at the end of the 9th point when it returns to the first point to start over, I'll hit the enter button to end the calibration and it will pop up an error message. It says 'parameter error. Please input again' after which if I touch the screen anywhere the cursor retreates to the right side of the screen as if there were some crud between the panel, I've already checked and there is none. tried at least a dozen search strings and couldn't find anything on the subject. Ideas? thanks.

my cf-29 does the same thing

If you are lucky it may just be a grain of sand between the touchscreen and bezel or the touchpad and surrounding bezel. You can try to fish stuff out with a thin plastic strip perhaps, as suggested in other threads, cut out of a 2 liter soda bottle. Personally I use old screen protectors as they have a little stickum on one side and it helps to fish out the crap.
If it still doesn't work.... You have a bad touchscreen. -

well I just tried to clean the edges and the calibration failed again.
It's possibly defective even though it worked fine before the calibration?

They can fail anytime... But it does sound odd...

The funny thing is that my Toughbook CF-72 did the same thing as well as both of my CF-29,s i think that there is something else going on. However I will cay that the touchscreen works well I just cant calibrate it Oh well life goes on

No Ur right it just wont save the calibration so I'm thinking that there is something wrong with the program and now that I think about it my brand new CF-19 at work does the same thing.

I recently replaced two touch panels that were doing this. It would see all touch points but would give a parameter error when finishing the cal. So just because they see all touch points does not mean the panel is good. As soon as the panels were replaced with good ones no more parameter error.

Yes... If a thorough cleaning doesn't fix it... It is a bad tscreen unit.
