    Some time ago, I was trying to figure out how to "tap and hold" for right click (like in ppc or tablet). Since my toughbook is not digitizer type, xp doesn't use tablet version. You may find the needed files on (any?) xp cd, but I didin't want all that extra crap, just the right click function.

    i then gave up becuase my TS died.
    But I've just replaced it, and am now back on a tweaking mission.

    I just came across this and it looks promising. I haven't tried it yet, but will report back as soon as I do.

    I have the file in question, in case the link is dead.

    I just played around with the link from my last post, and this is exactly what I had been looking for. It works in every program, just as I would have hoped,and the config utility lets you change how long it takes. i turned it down to 250ms. perfect.

    If you don't have xp tablet, and want tap hold for right click, that's your answer.

    For those running Windows 7, this feature is already there.

    @Rusty:
    could you elaborate? after some quick googling, I see that feature is still only for tablet/digitizers with pens????

    On every touchscreen system I have installed Windows 7 (Pro and Ultimate), that feature was there. I have tried both 32 and 64 bit versions. Nothing fancy was done, it was just there. I have installed Win 7 on CF-18s, CF-19s, CF-29s, CF-30s, CF-51s, CF-52s and CF-74s.

    You just hold the stylus in one spot for maybe a second or so. A circle will develop around the cursor point. Release from the screen and whatever would have happened with a right mouse click will show up.

    I wonder where that comes from in windows, and if I can tear it out, and put it on xp......

    Stylus you say? how about if it's a touch screen (no digitizer)? Windows automatically loads those tools for digitizer equipped machines.

    None of the touchscreen systems were digitizers. By stylus I am referring to anything you use to move the cursor around on the screen by actually touching the screen. Not mouse or touchpad.
