Everyone needs drivers... So here they are. If anyone has more, either post them with a link or PM or email them to me and I will host them. Try not to use temporary space as we'll want these to stay here for a while.

So... Here they are.. Most should be good for any CF-28 running XP or Win2k. If you need one for Win98 or ME let me know and I'll post some of them...

BIOS - http://home.comcast.net/~ebayad/cf28_mk2_v200l13_r-2002-0150CF28PTJ.zip (This is a self extracting installer)

    GPS - http://home.comcast.net/~ebayads/GPS10100.zipGPSDRIVERS.zip
(This is a self extracting installer)

    DMI Viewer - http://home.comcast.net/~ebayads/28m2xpu1.zip
(This is a self extracting installer)

    Touchscreen - http://home.comcast.net/~ebayads/28m2xpt1.zip
(Open your mouse driver in Device Manager and update with this one)

Hotkey Manager - (One of the yellow question marks in Device Manager) - http://home.comcast.net/~ebayads/28m1xpb1.zip
(Open device manager... Look for one of the yellow question marks... Click on update driver and install!)

Video - (Usually the bottom yellow question mark in Device Manager!) http://home.comcast.net/~ebayads/28m3xpv1.ZIP (Installed via Device Manager. Look for , usually the lowest, yellow question mark. Click on "update driver" and point to folder with this file.)

Panasonic Handwriting Program - http://home.comcast.net/~ebayad/18t2xpu10.ZIP (Unzip and install)

If anyone needs any other drivers... Please post in THIS thread and we'll get them posted if possible. No warez will be posted in this thread. Only drivers and apps that Panasonic gave away with their systems. I guess if anyone has any other cool programs we could also host those... As long as they are freeware/shareware...

Hi folks, hope you can help!

I had the misfortune of being ripped off on ebay recently and now am the proud owner of a very sorry looking CF-28.

It arrived missing many drivers as well as the rear port cover. I have slowly managed to get most of the drivers from the Panasonic website but the model I have does not appear on the UK website and Panasonic themselves appear to be ignoring my pleas for help. I have so far had to just download everything I can find and hope something works...

I have model: CF-28PRJGZKM which currently sports; 800Mhz CPU, 512Mb Ram, 80Gb HDD, Wireless & Wired Network Adapters, Touchscreen, Windows XP Pro.

I also have found a DVD RW from a CF-27 which fits (although it looks like someone took the guts out of the Panasonic CD Rom caddy and jimmied in the guts of a fairly new DVD RW). It works fine but obviously is not a genuine part.

I am missing the drivers for the WIRED LAN Network Adapter and also I think the proper sound card drivers since I cannot make windows find a built in microphone (which I assume is present).

I would also love to hear from anyone who can sell me a replacement rear panel, the bluetooth unit, the second battery or the GPS unit for this laptop at reasonable prices.

    Fingers crossed...

Most toughbooks actually do not have a microphone built in. That could be why that isn't registering.
If you want the sound drivers, try nabbing This driver, and see if it does anything different for you.

As for the ethernet card, I'm suprised it didn't find the drivers by itself. Windows found the ones for mine (Using driver "Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter (10/100) ).

Try doing a manual selection using that info.

Huh??? When I hit the record button in XP and yell into the mic... I barely hear myself. I was thinking about adding a higher gain mic. I thought all of the CF-28s ad the mic... I mean it's like a two cent part.

Is the microphone showing in Device Mgr???

I've only seen them in 1/4th of the ones I've seen on eBay, unless they are embedded in other locations.

MindCandy... Was it a UK dealer or US dealer? You should post the link so we can avoid the dealer.

I brought the laptop off ebay from a private seller and I left feedback describing my complaint about the transaction, it should be as simple as checking the feedback of a private UK seller before making a purchase.

As upset as I am about being ripped off I can't bring myself to name and shame the individual on a public forum - seems bad form somehow.

As for the microphone, there are two locations it could be (above the keyboard and slightly to the left of the F5 button or in the right screen hinge above F12) but you're right - there is no microphone listed in device manager.

For that matter there is no yellow (!) indicating a problem with the wired lan adaptor - but the socket is present next to the modem socket on the right hand side of the laptop.

Could the socket be present and not have the adaptor installed or would it be a blanking plate?

Is the adaptor integrated onto the mother board or could it have come loose and not be detected by windows?

Thanks guys - appreciate the help.

Updated sound driver found my microphone, thanks a lot Modly!

I've tried looking for the Intel network driver but I keep getting pointed to the fact that it was supposed to ship with Windows XP, unfortunately of course it isn't detecting. Any suggestions?
