I just tried to move 4GB of RAM from my CF30 MK1 over to My CF30 MK2. The 2GB from the MK2 will work in the MK1, but the 4GB of RAM from the MK1 will not work in the MK2. I'm guessing that since the MK2 has a faster front speed bus it takes a higher speed RAM. Has anyone else had problems with this?

Both the cf-19 mk-1 and cf-30 mk-1 use 200pin ddr2 pc2-4200 ram
The cf-19 mk-2 and cf-30 mk-2 use 200pin ddr2 pc2-5300 ram
The faster ram is backwards compatible on the mk-1 as you noticed

Just placed an order for new ram. Thanks for the heads up.

See that's extremly weird because I have two sticks of 1GB PC5300 in my mark one and it runs fine (granted it probably runs at 533 instead of the 667)... but it at least works...

Rob Nothing is weird except your eyesight
Read my post , 5300 is good for both, 4200 works for mk-1s only
