I was looking at those before i bought a toughbook but just did not like how they were setup. They have a fan that might let water in and they do not seem to have cover doors like the TB's do.

Might be a nice machine tho. Good luck if you bid.

That was a nice video on the page lol. Too bad the toughbook disintegrated when it was blown up.

These lucky guys just blow em up over there. I had to shell out a fortune for one. :(

lol, no laptop can survive what they did... although with the water testing, my toughbook survived the 1st water test... When I was on vacation 3 weeks ago my toughbook got soaked when camping... took it like a champ! :). All in all that video defiantly DID NOT convince me that the Motorola was better... Panasonic invented the rugged computer, (which Itronix following)...

My neighbor emailed me about the Moto laptop over a year ago. It is impressive.

Yes... They actually did the test on The Gadget Show. They did the same test on the CF-28 years ago. The dynamite blew the battery and battery cover off. When they found the battery and plugged it back in... IT WORKED! Though an impression of the keyboard had been pressed into the screen... It still worked!

KL... You may want to use the PM function...

I'd love to see how they mailed the laptops back to the manufacturers after "testing" hahahaha. I'd suppose the stipluation for the demo units is that they cannot be resold. Might as well blow 'em up.

Should start seeing these show up more an more as surplus - seeing a lot of cops using them - VA state police uses them. Can see the big "M" on the lid as I pass them in the median. suppose it would make a good vehicle unit - now worries about water inside a vehicle.

    Hi All,
I think if it was not a toughie then I would go for a gobook xr1.The motorola looks like it was made for a batman movie with that big logo on it. perhaps it does light up and project an image in the sky. lol. Stick with the toughie they've been tried and tested.
    cheers
