Court Strikes Down Illinois Concealed Carry Ban - ABC News
Need I say more?![]()
Just made my day!

All I have to say: Happy shooting. May the better one win....
(brainless) -
Rock on!!!!

Congratulations, this is a great victory. Unfortunately, your legislators, most, not all, will be working to make any new law as restrictive as possible while "respecting" your 2nd amendment rights. They really do know what's best for the ignorant masses.
Just get it over and move to Texas. -
Don't shoot your Toughbook
-
As long as they don't start making laws about walls Rob will be A - OK.
-
HAHAHA! Thanks guys!
Yes, maybe I'll rag on my wife a little to move to Texas with me... She's the reason I haven't moved there yet :/ -
Maybe she just needs a good taste of the southern life, then she will probably be dragging you down. LOL. Texas has about any type place you want to live, rural, no man's land, city, ranch, forest, desert, flatland, hilly, etc. Then after a few hours of driving you then realize you aren't even halfway though the state, lol.

Austin Rocks!
The rest of the big cities in Texas kinda suck, especially Houston. And yes, I've lived in Texas so I'm not just shooting my mouth off ;P I do have to say heat beats the hell out of cold though... -
They did the same thing in MD but the court set aside the decision while they appeal it. I think they will eventually strike it down for good.... But the MD antigun Nazis are fighting it tooth and nail.

The police chief there is anti-gun, as is the Travis County Pct. 5 Constable; Bruce Elfant; who was caught using county equipment in his anti-gun campaign, while at the same time lobbying for unlimited national concealed carry rights for current and retired cops. -
Sounds like most of those anti gun senators. You always see a "armed" guard or two with them.

I know that today's events at Sandy Hook Elementary will sadden both sides of the gun control argument equally and that everyone everywhere will sorrow for those affected.
My personal decision not to own firearms was taken before the shootings in Hungerford in 1987 and long before the UK government banned (almost all) handguns in the wake of the "Dunblane massacre" - a multiple shooting at a primary school in Scotland in 1996.
I'd been a club shooter and been a little uneasy about one or two members but my decision wasn't made until a neighbour became seriously mentally ill without warning. Within a week of having a perfectly normal conversation with him he was raving and committed. When I saw him a long time later he'd been through the mental health system and was an empty shell.
Try as I might I couldn't ignore the fact that nobody is immune to mental illness so I decided to try to reduce the possibility of the crazed killer in the headlines being me.
That doesn't mean I would vote for gun control were I a US citizen. There are compelling arguments for and against.
After so long both sides are understandably entrenched and vehement in their opposition. Strong feelings, harsh words and an unwillingness to see beyond gun-toting rednecks and wine-sipping bleeding-heart liberals.
I can see no path to a workable solution but I think I remember more than one US citizen being instrumental in bringing a kind of peace to Northern Ireland - so maybe there's hope?
Despite some of the most stringent and rigorously enforced legislation in the world gun crime persists in the UK by the way. -
Anti-gun laws work about as well as anti drug and alcohol laws. They make people "feel" better.

Today is a GLORIOUS day for us Illinois folks! *OT*
