I am able to get everything else to work except the ts. I have installed/uninstalled/reinstalled the touchpad and universal pointer device and then the ts program, but cannot get it to work. I know the touch screen is good as I removed the entire LCD and tried it on another 34 where it worked perfectly. I have followed the same install procedures that I have used on several 34's, but I just cannot get this one to work. It is a MK5, 933MHz model. Help anyone?

Rob..t, Install the touchscreen manually. To the bios make it enable and list it down what Irq. Then during the updd installation use custom and input the the IRQ no. from the bios and your set. There are three IRQ on the bios choose one at a time coz sometime there are some conflict till you hit the right one.

I have gone through the updd several times and clicked on custom each time. The program installs and then closes at the end. It then goes through the detection process and fails to detect a device. No where along the way does it allow me to enter my own IRQ settings. TS is enabled and the settings are 3E8/IRQ7 in the bios. The settings in the UPDD program are 3F8/IRQ4.

During the updd installation there are a boxes for IRQ value that you can be edited to designate the same IRQ value on the bios. I think custom/ advanced either of those. Its a bit hard for me to explain you know, a lunguage gap.

Here: maybe it can help, same procedure: http://forum.notebookreview.com/pan...installation-clarification-2.html#post6152706

During installation of the UPDD program there are NO drop down boxes for anything except the com port, and you can select 1-5, custom or none. There is no way to change the IRQ values during install. I have done an install using all four values that are listed in the bios and none worked with the install of UPDD, they all got the same "device not detected" during the detection portion of the install after the install is complete. I even tried setting the bios to "auto" and then setting the com port on 4, but that did not work either. I have no clue as to what to try next....

I FINGERED IT OUT!! Come to find out the other 933MHz model I just set up recently was having the same problem. I tried all the fixes on it and same thing, still no touchscreen. Well, just for giggles this morning I went into the UPDD/Hardware tab where the drop down menu for the port is located (the same tab that gives the info on your IRQ being used) and started with Com port 1 and went down the list. I hit three and noticed the cursor jump around so I hit the cursor with the stylus and bingo, it moved! I then went into the calibration screen and ran it and now it works great! Did the same process to the other (original) one that was giving me the problem and fixed it also. Thanks for all your help guys and make a mental note of what to try if this happens in the future. ST
