    Hi all,
I cant get my touch screen to work. I look in Device Manager and I have unknown device in human interface, which i think is my touch screen.

Anyone know where I can get the driver's for this??

    We need more information.

What model laptop do you have, what OS are you running.

However, I would guess that you are right and that the missing device is the screen. I would look on Panasonic's website for your particular model and see what kind of drivers you can find.

If you are unsure if you actually have the touchscreen... You can enter your model number here to see...

    http://www.config.toughbook.com/pcsc/config/tgconfigure.nsf?open&selected=discontinued-all

If you need the driver for a CF-28... Let me know and I'll post it for you. I have them for all operating systems.

As I recall you don't just install the touchscreen driver. You have to go into device manager and tell it to update the driver. Then you point it to the folder where the driver is.

    OK, she a
CF-28PTJAZDM (tho she more like CF-PTMGZKM if you go by the site)
    BIOS Ver: V2.00L13
    Windows: XPpro sp2
    CPU: PIII @ 800MHz
    Ram: 512Mb
    HDD: 80Gig @ 5400rpm

In the BIOS setup, the Touchscreen is [Enable], so I know that she is a touch screen model, and she does have inbuild Lan and modem too.

I have downloaded the files "Touch screen and touch pad driver for winXP"
from https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pc/cgi-bin/itn/toughbook/dl01.cgi but the files are for CF-28ST/SR(mk3). They dont have any files for the CF-28PT models there :( Tho being touchsrceen models too just they are the PIII 1Gig models, I thought they should work too.

Did the manual install, and told it to load the .inf file from the download -->reboot. Hardware found but still coming up "Code 10 This device cannot start" on "Touchpad/Touchscreen Properties".

I do have now the "Calibration" and "Test touch piont" installed in "Mouse Properties", and when I run the tests I come up with Zip :( . Calibration test Just give me "error Dtm" "Parameter Error, please input again." and the test touch, I'm not getting any feed/writing on the screen..........

So I'm back to square one again......

OK, tried the downloads, no good tho. There was some info with the files about setup for the XP os on CF-28s tho.

you cant use the writing softwear on the 28's and a few other files too, so the touch screen maynot work if the .inf files not right.

so thinking about putting on win2000 and seeing how that goes.

Thanks mate, that one work great!!!!!

Tho it is the same Fidmou.inf as the other drivers that I have downloaded so far, maybe some of the exe. files where stuffed??? Dont care anymore, now that is working, and that file is now on my "Backup/Rescue Disk".

Ending up uninstalling the pointer/mouse drivers and reinstalling the drivers.
It reminds me why I hate windows without a mouse.

Now for the external ariel mod, GPS and maybe a Bluetooth card..........

I emailed you the drivers for WinXP... I think they will work on Win2k... Try them and let me know what you want/need and for which OS.

I just installed XP onto my CF-28PCJGEPMBKB and my touchscreen is not working, none of the drivers that where posted on her so far work. If i could just get all of the drivers for a CF-28PC with XP that would be great! I would like to get any info on the GPS on this unit, it works but the signal is never very strong and only works if i am outside. it will not work inside my car. i dont have any drivers for it. it just runs from the bios on COM 4 i think. The touchpad seems to need a driver or something too. it jumps to the bottom right of the screen when i am using it and is just annoying. Thanks!

what you have just said there is what happens with the GPS drivers installed.
Have a look at the "testing the GPS" thread. you have to go into the
Control panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager>Mice and other pointing devices> serial ballpoint mouse, and then disable it for the system.

I had that happen a lot before I did the Regedit hack for it.
The same happen for me, not one of the things where working but got them to all work after some time. Lots of rebooting LOL ;) :) .

I didn't have my GPS in when I first got my Lap'y, so you may want to just pull it out till you have the rest setup, as I believe that the mouse and GPS drives will keep clashing as they use the same chip, as someone as said before in a thread. I had to uninstall all the drivers for the mouse, reboot then install it all, same for the touchscreen. And then it was all good, Screen and all.
