So I got the touchscreen working and CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME get the damn thing calibrated!. The calibration utility just crashes every time. I've tried the XP utility and the Vista utility and I cannot for the LIFE OF ME get it :(.

I also have the bluetooth drivers installed and I can see devices (my mogo mouse for example) and when I connect to it it says that it connects, the wizard goes away and then it just doesn't work. Any ideas?!?!?!

    PLEASE HELP!.

    Thanks!!!

Also I can't get the sound to work.

Any ideas on that? I've tried Vista drivers and XP drivers :(

I wish I could help... I've stayed away from Vista on purpose but have been reading a lot of great stuff about 7... Even though it looks like they took it right off a Mac!

Someone will figure this out when we have more people jumping on this.

Dumb question..... Did you tell it to work in XP mode or is that what you were talking about?

I haven't tried "XP Mode"... didn't know of such a thing.

No - I was referring to XP drivers and Vista drivers (not at the same time of coarse :p) - Both of which don't work.

I will wait for official Panasonic driver support before attempting W7 installations on my cf-74 and cf-30
I had not hotkey working so the screen was at full brightness!

The hotkey works on my cf-30 with W7 but it doesn't show the little blue icon thingy in the middle of the screen...

I thought I read somewhere that you can install stuff "In XP mode" or something like that. It tells the OS that the software being installed works under XP and should be installed that way... Try right clicking on the EXE file or driver to see if it will allow you to install it under a different mode.

    JB -

On Win 7, almost EVERYTHING EXECUTABLE can be set to run in "Compatibility mode" for previous versions of Windoze; once you've copied the drivers to your folder on your hard drive, look for it in the properties tab for the installer or msi file.

Sometimes if you try to run a Windows Installer compliant installer, it will attempt to install, then come back with a dialog asking if you want to try again "using the recommended settings"; this is what it's trying to do automatically for you.

Here's hoping 7 is luckier than Blista...

Found this thread to report that I've used touchscreen drivers for CF-30 (couldn't find any other) for my T5 and it works perfectly with Win 7. (Had to run setup in XP mode). Probably these must work for any toughbook touchscreen, if it helps someone - while searching for solution I also came across plenty "how to make touchscreen work in 7" questions over the net.

Did you install Win 7 from scratch or upgrade from vista? I wanted a clean install on my CF-30 but decided to install the Vista restore and upgrade from there. Everything works now my CF-19 is another problem did the same thing but hotkeys are like yours no icon display.

I think that's why the Panny site recommends the upgrade path as some things will just not work right in a Win 7 clean install. Mainly because they have not gotten drivers specifically for 7 out. I think most 7 drivers on the site are actually slightly tweaked Vista drivers. If you can do the Vista>Win 7 do that. Since it is a fresh Vista version upgrading to 7 takes about the same as clean install. Like I mentioned everything works perfect on my CF-30 MK3 and I assume the couple of things on my CF-19 that are flaky are due to it not being officially supported it being a MK2 instead of the supported MK3. What MK is yours and do you have the Vista restore disk for it?

Mine is a mark 1 and I only have a Mark 1 XP restore discs.

Are you saying that If I can get my hands on a Vista restore disc, restore the unit then upgrade it to win7 and that will work?

    Thanks

That is correct but you have to follow the pdf guide on the panny upgrade site to the letter (not too hard just restore, uninstall some drivers and programs, then upgrade, install some drivers and programs) first and since it is a MK1 not all things might work like my CF-19 MK2 since only MK3's are supported (CF-30 and CF-19), but I think I messed up the driver order on my CF-19 since it was 4 am and I was a bit drunk.(I upgraded both in one night). I am thinking of reinstalling the CF-19 again sober this time ,but I have been lazy and the only things that don't work are the blue icon when you use the hotkeys and staticky sound on youtube only (but that is probably just youtube) screen rotation front buttons keys all work.

Seriously it not that much of a pain if you do it the upgrade way. However long a clean install took add an extra hour(about 20 for the restore and 40 for the upgrade). And Win 7 rocks. I mean I love XP myself, but Win 7 is so much better. With the upgrade you won't have to deal with touchscreen, bluetooth(I got a mogo mouse too), sound or hotkey issues.

So you mean everyone who had touchscreen calibration problems in W7 had done clean installs? (instead of upgrading from Vista as you did)

Wow so am I the only one who did the upgrade route? It was not my first choice as I hate inplace upgrades as they usually don't work right. But I figured a fresh restore of the vista disc straight to the upgrade would be cool. As the vista installation was virgin with no built up crap or tons of programs installed which is usually what hoses up upgrades.
I did this on both a CF-19 MK2 and CF-30 MK3 and they both are running perfect. no sound, touchscreen, bluetooth issues, etc.

I will do that next reload on my cf30 and cf19
I believe Toyo suggested it ,and as you say not usually the preferred way ,but as these have a lot options it is probably the best way
    I wish I had mk1 vista cf30 restore dvd

If I get time to swap out my hard drive with a different one I'll do that and do a restore using the Vista Discs for my laptop, then will try everything out on Vista and see if it works. If it works then I will upgrade to Win7 and see what I can see.

    Thanks

Rob, go to your Util2 file. Open the Tscreen folder. On EVERY application, and driver right click to open properties. Under the Compatibility tab switch them all to run in XP or Vista.

BTW, 95% of all the Toughbook drivers are the same across the models. Read the driver info very close and you will see alot of them are the same. Ahile back, B4 W7 was official I used alot of CF-52 and 74 drivers.

I have not tryed to swap the hard drive after its loaded ( It could bluescreen)to a mk1 as even my mk2 has had issues
As I said have not tryed Toyo's upgrade path ,only fresh load
And I have the Vista dvd for the mk2 as does Toyo

That's fine with me. I could always just put a different key in for whatever version I wanted. All the features are installed onto one version. It is the key code that determines which version your allowed to run.

    CF-30 MK1 with Vista was CF-30CASAXJM
    CF-19 MK1 with Vista was CF-19CHGAXJM

With that info, you'd be able to order Vista restore CDs through Heartland or an autorized Panasonic TP3 solutions provider.

I can adjust the brightness for example but their is NO blue thingy that shows the level in which it's at... also If I mess with the sound control on the hotkey it kills the sound and I have to reboot...
