Well since I got this CF-18 MK4 I have been trying to calibrate the touchscreen. I can do all the 9 points no problem...press enter....get no errors. The left side is ok but when I start touching about half way across the arrow gets farther away from the stylus...1/2 to 1" away. I have cleaned all around the edge of the touchscreen, I went and downloaded the newest drivers and still no luck.I did use the restore disk when I installed the OS , did all the updates (SP3) . The last few times I have restarted the 18 but still no go . Did I miss something ?

You did not. Your issue usually is related to one of two things; gunk under the bevels around the sides, or a faulting Touchscreen. What I would try first is recleaning the edges, maybe even pulling the lid off so that you can get the edges better.

I had a similar problem on a CF-29 and I went through the same procedures to attempt and clean the edges and re-callibrate the sreen. It ended up being a bad screen and had the be sent to Heartland for replacement.

I have even seen some where calibration needs to be done 2-3 times to get t spot on.

Rick, more specifically do you know why over time the screen loses its calibration? Or what increases or decreases the speed at which it comes out of alignment?
