Hi, I just got a cf-19 from a guy. All I got was the unit plus the AC adapter. No recovery disk. The hard drive has been erased at some point and loaded with XP. It has none of the original Panasonic apps and programs, its just a striped down version of xp.

My model is cf-19cdbaxvm which is a digitizer model. I've done some searching and downloaded some drivers I thought I needed, but nothing is working as far as the touchscreen goes.

I talked to Panasonic and they say I need to get XP Tablet edition loaded on it to get it to work. The only way I can get the Tablet version back on it is with a recovery disk or send the unit back to Panasonic for $150.

Anyone no of another way to get this to work? Does it have to have XP Tablet or am I just missing some drivers, apps, and or programs?

    Thanks.

    Have you tried the pen?
the digitizer only works with the pen, it will not work with your fingers

Yeah, I've tried that. Btw, what the difference between the touchscreen pen and the digitizer pen?

Can you spell large? The stylus is for a touch screen. The digitizer pen is a whole different animal

It has a stylus looking thing attached to it on a little springy cord. Its about 4 inches long and has a little button on the side towards the bottom. Thats what I've been trying to use, but its not working.

Panasonic told me that I have to have XP Tablet for the touchscreen to work. Does that sound right?

Weve had good luck with the WACOM drivers from the wacom website. They will work with XP or tablet.

That description sounds like the digitizer pen that I use on my Fujitsu ST 5031.

I have a cf-19cdbaxvm as well. Purchased used without recovery disks but it has the tablet edition loaded on the hard drive. I couldn't stand to be without recovery disks so I purchased vista business and another sata hard drive, upgraded the ram to 4gb , and downloaded the vista drivers from panasonic. Its working fine with vista.

That's not a bad idea either, I'll have to keep that in mind.

    Thanks for the help everyone!
