Our robotics team has 5 toughbooks with model number 30caqazbm. After much playing around with the software I was able to get 2 of the touchscreens to work.
Shortly after, one of them stopped working, and then later the other one stopped.
I have tried updating and downgrading the bios, updating and downgrading the tscreen drivers, and taking all of the backs off and jiggling the digitizer cables.
What is strange is that if I turn the wires to the digitizer upside down, then all 5 touchscreens respond. The mouse moves crazily but they are definitely responding to touch. When I flip the cable back over to the correct position I get nothing.
That leads me to believe that everything is working on the software/bios/driver side.

post over in the Toughbook forum ( Panasonic ) we have some master techs and modders in there to assist you far better than the general windows area.

Do I copy my post or is there a way to move it?

just copy it in, we normally do not like double postings but I do not have the correct permissions to move this thread over there. we can leave this one open or close it later at our discretion.
and also welcome to the forum here at NBR. -

1. CF-30 MK1 has screen separation issues.
2. CF-30 MK1 bios must be flashed to change between tablet (Vista/W7) and touch(XP).
This is the short version. Much help elsewhere. Especially CF-30 section in Toughbooktalk.
