I have a CF-19 mk6 running Win 7 Pro and have been evaluating software to make use of the portable nature of the tablet. I wanted to see what software others were using and get some comments.

General needs are to be able to mark up files in the field such as PDF (reference material or drawings), DWG (drawings), and take notes in general.

The default package seems to be Bluebeam Revu with a trial start-up.

    That points to individual packages:
    DWG - Autodesk TrueView (Free)
    PDF - Adobe
Notes - a couple are out there.

This discussion also points to the operating system, Win 8.1 vs Win 7 since the tablet user experience and integration to software changed a lot. In replying, please clarify that also.

I use the **** outa OneNote. Mainly because it's easy and it's cross-platform. I love being able to start a note on my phone, scribble something with my tablet and format/print it from my desktop.

The tabletpc review forums are a great resource. I use inkdesktop, epicpen, journal, pdf annotator, there is also inkseine but it has not been updated in years. There are some powertools that microsoft has which you also might find useful.

Is your unit a dual touch or just a touchscreen model? I ask coz it will be best to have a dual touch model. You must also consider a hardware option. You know why? The dual touch has ability to rest your hand on the screen while your doing your homework using your stylus pen. On that stage the touch option will be off and the digitizer touch will be active while on touch only model you can't do that.

I ran across this page at tabletpc ( http://www.tabletpc2.com/Software.htm ) before putting up this post as part of my search. It is good to hear that they are useful. Is that the same page referenced?

Are there any other MS applications which are relevant, but not listed there?

That has good information but I don't think it has been updated in years. http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/forums/software.2/ has more recent information and has even more information. I think it is still being used so you can ask questions and get timely answers.
