    Hello Folks,

I am quite new into the tough book market. I love the Toughbook because of how easy and user-friendly it is to replace parts-, but finding them is a challenge in it of its self.

So I bought this used Toughbook on eBay and I am looking to replace a couple of things. I really appreciate all the help you guys give.

    The Bezel

I am looking to replace the interior screen bezel as it is chipped. As well as the Power port cover.

I have been looking around on the internet and I cannot seem to find a bezel anywhere online so I was hoping to get a part number so I could get inquire from http://www.heartlandsi.com/ to find out the cost of buying one.

    The Port Cover

I have come pretty close to finding a port cover on eBay for $10 http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-DC-port-...ok-CF-31-MK1-OEM-New-DFHR9174YA-/321866288866 until it said I needed a different model for the MK2s and Up. I was wondering if there is any truth in this statement? I thought that the parts between the different MKxs were interchangeable.

If not, I can play it safe by going through http://toughruggedlaptops.com/acces...anasonic-toughbook-cf-31-cf31-port-cover.html and buying the whole set and paying and outrageous shipping fee of $10. \

In the last case scenario, I could always try to acquire the part number and shoot heatlandsi an email.

What do you suggest I do?

    Any help is greatly appreciated,
    Thank You

The mk2 and up use a single strip that has all of the port covers in one.
If you trim yours a bit, I am sure the single cover from a mk1 would work.

If you think $10 is outrageous shipping, Make sure you are sitting down when you talk to Heartlands. $35 is their minimum shipping rate.

I have an exceptionally nice bezel here. It looks new.
Start a private conversation with me to discuss it.

I think I just passed out. $35 to ship an item that weighs no less than a stack of quarters is death inducing.

I will start a convo about the bezel.

    Thank You,
    ^_^

Depends who you talk to at Heartland they might help you with shipping. Sometimes they will ship by USPS but it still will cost you $$10-$15.00 but the port cover will be a lot cheaper. Call them first on the cover .The bezel will be cheaper from Shane.

They are good to deal with but if the parts are not in stock you could be waiting a while.
