I powered down my perfectly running CF-28 and the following day when I turned it on it comes on and I can hear windows running (can also see the XP at start up on the screen) but when the windows song comes on the screen is blank like it is in some kind of hibernate or sleep mode. it works fine in the bios mode I think I may have shut the lid to early while it was shutting down or something??? Has anyone experienced this before?

Sounds like the good Mr. Perkins needs to "buy" a new screen, or possibly just an inverter ..... ;)

If it works during boot up, and stops precisely for windoz xp, then read on.

Right after the pani splash screen goes away (or bios has found all the devices it does normally) tap the f8 key repeatedly untill you get a boot menu.

Boot safe mode and log on. Right click my computer, manage, device manager, find your video card/display driver. Right click, and uninstall.

    Reboot.

If you can't boot into safe mode, then download Ubuntu live cd, burn it, and try to boot from it. If that doesn't at least give you the boot splash for ubuntu, then it's a physical hardware issue.

That's it for the free advice. You may want to look around for similar symptoms in any laptop, i don't think this is TB specific.

    Good luck!
