I know (from experience) that it is important to install CF-29 and CF-30 drivers in the order indicated in the "install instruction" text file. But isn't it odd that that list is in alphabetical order? (other than the "asset tag").

    Just an observation.

Yeah, i want to re-install Windows XP on my CF-29 (mark 3), and also would like the correct order for the install. Now i have a german version of XP, and anytime i disconnect a USB device it gives a little error window. (dll fault or so what).

I found a website (maybe this one) who had the correct list, but i couldnt find it again.

Panasonic Download Center | TOUGHBOOK | TOUGHPAD

    This should be of assistance:

    Category: Operation System and Others
    Title: [ Install Instructions ]
    Model: CF-29[H/J]3(mk3) Windows XP Pro SP2 CF-29H3xxxBx
    Operating System: Windows XP SP2
    Language: German
Release Date: Apr 13, 2005 Index No: 004548
File Name (Size): H-2005-0061.pdf (59.2 kb)
    [Download Time 512k: 1.0 sec]

This file is self-expandable on any Toughbook model‚ but the drivers
can only be installed (used) on the applicable model number.

Rob has done thousands of these. This is his instructions per my last post

XP Pro I do it the following way: (BTW, you DON'T need to reboot 1000 times... Just install all the drivers and then reboot at the end)...

    1) Run the Audio setup.exe file to install the audio drivers
    2) Run the Setup.exe for the Intel Video drivers
    3) Now go to device manager and go to the mouse properties and update that driver for the touchscreen/touchpad drivers (point the driver update wizard to the folder where you extracted the touchscreen drivers and pull it from there)
    4) Now find the "unknown device" and install this driver from the hotkey folder.
    5) Last but not least find the modem and use windows update to get this driver (make sure you are connected to the introwebs of coarse!)
    6) Reboot!
    7) Grab a beverage.
    8) Go into the mouse properties and go to the touchscreen tab and click on "calibrate" - calibrate the screen
    9) Enjoy!

    Shawn & Rob,

So you are saying that it is not necessary to install all 5000 drivers in the "install order" in that 4 page file downloaded from Panasonic? I thought everyone here said we had to follow that install routine to the nth. Please say you are serious!! This would save hours!!

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Cf-29s and 30s are not that finicky. The Cf-18s and, I believe, 19s are a different story. The 18 at least will not accept anything but the exact order.
