Toughbook,
In another tread, you mentioned (and in your sig) that you use the Ubiquiti high power Wifi card. How or is this a better system than the highly refereed Engenius 8602+ & +S.
I have the 8602+ installed in 2 CF-29's and they work great. But, will the "Ubiquiti" work the same or better in 1 or both of the CF-30's that I now have.
"Alex" posted that you have the "SR71E" model, they only now list SR71-A & SR71-15 models.
Info would be much appreciated

I'm wondering about this as well. I'm getting a new card since the Intel 2915 is, well, crap. But i cant decide between the two.

The "E" type is still available from several sellers
Rick has used this card for over a year and has yet to give us an idea if there was an improvement
@rick 10p + @ares93 This card will not work on older Toughbooks as the cf-30 uses a m-pci-e interface
So you have to look at other adapters for use in cf-18's/cf-29's
We have many threads on the old m-pci wi-fi upgrades
And quite a few on upgrading m-pci-e in the cf-30 , although they are all using Intel cards -
I use this in my cf29 m-pci
Mikrotik
Mikrotik 350mw 802.11n R2N
high power (350)mw and it has N. It uses a newer chipset.
Atheros AR9223
It works fine in my cf29 -
My CF-29's already have the Engenius 8602+ cards in and working extremely well.
Shawn, thankx for the link. I did'nt know that there were so many choices of WifI cards available. Just trying to find a hi power WiFi solution for the 2 CF-30's, that work as well or better than what is in CF-29's.
Still waiting for "Toughbook" to chime in and give us all a run down on his WiFi card. -
Nonetheless, I hear engenius is more popular, yet they seem to preform much the same. There isn't much of a difference in the price either. Say the SR2 and the 8209+. -
I have used the Engenius wifi cards in the CF-28 and CF-29 for years and love them... But they are Mini-PCI cards. I needed a PCI-E card for the CF-30 and didn't even check to see if Engenius made the PCI-E cards. Someone at the time was crowing about the Ubiquiti so that is why I went with it.
It beats the stock card but I have never compared it to the Engenius card. Next time I build a CF-29 with the Engenius card I'll have to compare and post back.
