I know this is a really stupid question, but I was just wondering how I could tell if I had a screen protector or not, on my Toughbook?

I just recently bought a used CF-19 to use in the shop (automotive shop) and I am not sure if I need to buy another screen protector or not- I would sure hate to think that I had a screen protector and it turns out I didn't...just as I would also hate to put a screen protector on top of a screen protector that was already there.

I look at the corners and I see a delineation just inside the frame from the clean viewable area to what appears to be a dirty area just on the outside. It's a straight line of delineation all the way across from corner to corner- does that mean I have a screen protector or is that just from where the guy peeled away the screen protector for a clean screen before he sold it to me and couldn't get the outermost edges?

Here's the problem though, while I'm inclined to say that I have a screen protector, when I run my fingernail over that boundary- I don't feel any rise/drop in the surface, so I'm thinking I don't have one. Correct?

Sorry, I know this was a really stupid question to ask,

Put your fingernail against the side of the bezel and scrape lightly toward the center. If it's there you will feel the edge of the screen protector.

    Jeff is right.

FWIW: Don't even think about attempting to replace the factory (OEM) screen protector with a new one for 2 reasons:

    1) The OEM ones cost $100+
    2) You need to be in a sealed chem suit environment. If you get even 1 spec of dust that's .1 micron in size it'll create bubbles...

    GOOD FREAKIN LUCK! lol

Very good screen protector costs USD 30 (I've bought some pcs).
It's not so difficult to replace the factory one - just do it in your bathroom with hot water on - much steam, no dust, I assure you :)))

You're slipping, Rob; Toughbook passed along that tip quite some time ago. ;)

also don't think about those from Zagg, the invisishield-ish things.
After an email, the pointed me to one that could fit. And it does fit. But these things are not as smooth, they have a rubbery feeling so fingernails don't slide easy and the digitizer pen don't want to sign my documents anylonger without getting all jitterish.
I now ordered two OEM ones, they costed €47 each. Not that bad, considering Rob's price.
Oh, I install them in an office without heating, that has been thoroughly cleaned the day before and use those microfibre cloths to clean the screen really good. Works for my folks' ipad, my iphone, and the Zaggthing on my CF-19.

What is a good brand of screen protector for a CF-19 MK3 with a touch screen?

Thanks for the reply, I will look into the links and get what I pay for. Screen protection is priceless!!

Now if I can only find the install directions for a GPS in a CF-19.... off to search!!
