I'm going to sell my CF-28 for something that will play games and Movies (I suppose work related things too). I like the CF-52 because of its 512vram and ATIX2300. I like the asus G1 but its hard to goto a plastic machine after the CF-28. I would probably ruin it pretty quick. Hows the build quality of the CF-52? If someone has one or has seen one let me know. I wish the CF-30 had a Radeon![]()

I saw one the other day. it is a beautiful machine with a sturdy design (duh, Toughbook). I like that it is on the Santa Rosa platform which allows for the current top of the line mobile Intel processors. The Socket P is also the same socket as some of the upcoming Penryn series processors with an 800MHz FSB. Right now it looks like the T8100, T8300, T9300, and T9500 are 800MHz Socket P which will be out in January of 2008.
It supports up to 4GB of RAM which is the high end for the amount of RAM in a notebook.
the CF-52 has caught my eye. -
Isn't the CF-74 also on the santa rosa platform or is that not true?
I know the 74 has onboard graphics instead of dedicated, but its also more expensive than the CF52. -
Unfortunately, I don't think it is part of the Santa Rosa platform. The CF-74 supports Socket M processors and not Socket P. The sockets have the same number of pins (478) but are not compatible.

How about the 1900*1200 rez. Thats pretty high for a 15 inch laptop eh? I suppose it makes it a bit future proof for when the high def. slim drive become available. I think this is the laptop for me.
Toughbook CF-52 pretty good?
