Greetings all,
I've searched around but haven't found any posts covering my particular issue, so I'm hoping someone can be of service.
I'm dealing with a Toughbook CF-T5. The issue is that the ribbon cable for the hard drive has come unplugged from the mobo, and I can't find a way to reconnect it short of tearing the entire laptop apart.
If anyone has a shortcut or words of wisdom, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

Are you sure that it got disconnected and the hard drive didn't just go bad? How did you come to the conclusion that it was the ribbon cable disconnected from the mobo?
P.S: Their is no shortcut unfortunately. Go out and grab some nice small screwdrivers, use little bins and keep track of your screws, take your time and try to fix it. If not, PM me and you can sent the laptop over to my company and I can personally fix it for you for small charge. -
Rob,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I'm sure the cable disconnected, as it was very loose and I pulled it out of the laptop when checking on the hard drive. I have also verified that the hard drive is still good.
Thanks for verifying that I get to spend the remainder of my morning stripping this laptop to the bones... -
or pay me to do it
