I have a CF-30 FTSADAM that came equipped with a Verizon Rev. A sled and card. I recently ordered the Gobi as a replacement to use AT&T as a carrier. There were a couple of differences that I came across once I received the Gobi card.

The Main and Aux antenna connections are swapped in positions. Not a huge deal since the mini-coax cables are long enough to move to the other side.

What concerns me at the moment in the DIP switches on the sled itself. There is an opening cut into the aluminum cover, so I am assuming that these are meant to be somewhat accessible. Does anyone know what these govern? Other photos that I have seen about the Gobi install have them in a different position than mine. From the Verizon card I had 1, 3 ON and 2, 4 OFF. Can anyone else confirm the order of their switches for use with a Gobi or AT&T only WWAN card?

    Thanks.

My AT&T sled has 1, 4 nearest the numbers, 2, 3 away from the numbers. I can't see on and off without disassembling the sled?

    Thanks Glen,

I don't have the sled in front of me at the moment, but I think ON was away from the numbers. It was labeled on the inside edge opposite the 1 label. Any one have a Gobi sled to compare?

If there is an arrow printed on top of the dip switches, it ALWAYS points to ON.

    Bump for the new week.

Any speculation as to what might happen if I try some of these switch combinations?

I haven't tried it yet, I was afraid to find out what might happen if the settings were wrong for this unit. Since apparently the switches are different for various cards.

I don't think it would hurt anything man... I would just try it the way it is and go from there.

So I went ahead and installed the Gobi card in place of the original Verizon. The device shows up, but the CSA installer will not run. It encounters an "internal error 0xffff0820" and then stops.

I went to each individual package and tried to install the pieces which seemed to have run through without the problem. However, when trying to use the AT&T comm manager it does not detect the SIM and will not connect to the network.

I then changed to the Verizon manager which showed that the card was still in the CDMA mode, but I was not able to make it switch to GSM/HSDPA even after manually running the batch file.

Anyone have any ideas? I am still quite curious to see what some one with a Gobi card has for the DIP switch settings.

Thank you, that's what I needed to get Gobi to work on my CF-19.

Your welcome! I guess this guide must be added to the FAQ for future reference.
