Tittle says it: are the toughbook gc-83's usually unlocked?

If not, who are they locked to (usually)?

I searched, couldn't find an answer (couple google results about how to unlock, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask)

YMMV???? Anyways... Yeah, I bought mine unlocked back in the cf-29 days for around $65 and used my tmobile SIM in it... back then tmobile didn't have but gprs so it was as slow as dial up. Then tmobile FINALLY got EDGE (When I was 19 at the time (So almost 5 years ago)). the 83 is an EDGE capable card.

/\ /\ What he said for $1k. I couldn't find a non parts working one on the bay for only 1K

Never tried to see if the card works or not. I pulled it out after T mob and AT&T told me I was gonna pay $59 month 2 month. Once I get sent to a place in the sticks where wifi is not an option I'll take them up on that. If I take the sim out my iFail would it work or would I get random charges?
