All the new little parts you see on eBay, port covers and the like are being bought from Heartland by the seller and marked up 3-400% or more. If you do a group buy you can save a lot. I think Heartland monitors eBay sales, I had a good run adding CF-18 hard drive caddies to my Heartland orders for $85-90 and blowing them out on eBay for $150-160. All of a sudden the price at Heartland almost doubled. What you say here doesn't stay here.

Yeah.... Zig is one of the poser "Toughbook Pros" that orders from Heartland but gets all his info here. Their shop can't do the mods we do internally... So they offer everything externally and try to talk people into buying a 10 pound Toughbook and 20 pounds of parts to go along with it. Plus they buy $1.27 port covers and charge $7 plus $14.95 shipping! (Or something equally ridiculous!) They come on here every now and then to try to defend themselves but I think their market are the usual people who "Just don't know" and then they buy from them... Only because they don't search further and find us.

Unfortunately.... Usually it is too late for some Toughbook buyers as we hear the same stories time after time... "The buyer said it was this model and it wasn't" or This Toughbook was not the same one in the picture!".... Or (Flat out)... It doesn't work!

Hang tight and get in on a group order.

I had a talk with ebay over their "Golden Seal" whatever that marks you as their BEST seller.... I miss it because I sell 50 items yearly and you must sell 100 items to get there.... I pass ALL the other qualifications with flying colors.... (As do quite a few others here!) So just to tick off the posers... I'm going to order 100 DC port covers (and the like) and sell them for $3 with free shipping.

That way... I get my ebay certification... The posers lose out and ebay makes no money as I will be selling them for cost!

    One day SOON!

Well do give a heads up here when you do this! ;)

Way Way Way back when I got started on the CF-29, I think it was in November, I was looking at one of the refurbished and "maximized" vendors. I had placed a bid when I realized that their GPS was really just an add-on USB model.

I would have been pretty P.O. if that is what I got for my money, somebody doing the shopping for me! I do not see how they can continue to do this and keep good feedback.

Even on the one I purchased, it had an undisclosed crack in the bottom of the case that almost cracked the oval below the touchpad out over half way!

But, the seller rebated me enough to cover the damage and I decided to take a chance on it. I am glad I did, researching the repair is what brought me here!

Well... Teo hit it on the head.... As he usually does. Throw fuzzy pink dice out in front of people and you can hypnotize them.... Same thing with "Accessories"... Even if they are crap.

More Crap = More money's worth. ~ NO ~ More Crap = More Storage Space!

    Then customer receives product.... Then they realize that;

More crap = More shipping charges and less performance!

Then we have another dissatisfied customer here complaining about what they bought. We see it every week.

I keep praying people will read the WHOLE AUCTION!

It's always fun playing chase the laser beam until someone gets their eyball burned out... Then we get the fun of playing LET'S FIND THE EYEBALL!

Now I am confused, I thought that these were original equipment for all CF-29s and the only folks needing them were ones who needed a replacement!

I mean mine already has a "Toughbook" logo there, are these different?

Some off-lease toughbooks may have the toughbook logo removed, and/or replaced with their own company logo. The lot of 19's I got about a month or so ago had the toughbook logos replaced with Child Protective Service logos on it.

Mine is off lease and does not have any logo at all. I dont think they would replace it with a company logo since its a metal logo. Right?

Who would replace it? No, no one at Panasonic would replace it free of charge if that's what you're referring to...

You think that's bad, you should see me in person!! :p

I guess the lack of flat surfaces is a drawback when branding.

I need to place an order soon... I'll keep you guys posted. But you would have to buy them via ebay for it to work for me.... Still, it would be cheaper than anywhere else.

The issue is also that they sometimes limit the amount of items that you can buy based upon what they have in stock and what their expected need is.

I am STILL waiting on 5 backordered antenna bump-outs for Teo.... They were ordered months ago.

Azrial, How do you have 2.25 GB RAM in a CF-29? CF-29 MK 1,2,3 were limited to 1.25 GB and MK 4,5 were limited to 1.5 GB

Whether it is worth it or not is up to the individual user. For me personally, yes it was worth it. When I bought my CF-29, it did not have the Toughbook Logo and never did. I got one of the SBC refurbed ones. I am currently deployed to Iraq with the US Army and it is real hard at times to find anyone to ship to me here. The eBay seller did ship it to me here and let me tell you, installing the logo really made mine look "better" at least in my eyes.

Rob: I'm sure the above-referenced logo is already gone, but I would appreciate it if you could get one for me with your next bulk order. I want to replace the SBC logo on my "new" Toughbook.

Just let me know when you get ready to order and give me your PayPal ID for payment.

    Thanks,
