Earlier this month, Panasonic and PrivateEyes Enterprises announced future Toughbooks would have the option of including software that changes your screen image as soon as you stop looking at it. Here's the link with more info and free demo software: PrivateEye Enterprise

It uses a webcam (add-on or built in) to monitor your facial characteristics. Look away or have another face enter the camera's field of view and the software either defocuses the screen image or replaces it with an image of your chosing. They offer a 30-day free demo - but the actual software only seems to be available in a 50 seat enterprise "starter pack" for $36,000. FYI

That's probably the dumbest marketing tactic ever. Someone has probably already found a way to make the "30-day" demo last forever.

It should be interesting to see how much Panasonic charges for the software option - and whether they offer also it as an retro-fit accessory.
