I've had a problem of my toughbook making a faint beep when maximizing or minimizing windows.
It's not from the regular internal speaker because if I mute my volume it is still there. And if I disable beep in device manager it's still there. And if I set sounds to none then of course still there.. In the past I dealt with it with a system restore to when I didn't have it, though recently my system restore got corrupted perhaps after a virus scanner claimed success at cleaning a file in system restore.

I have solved it I think.. or worked around it in a way that looks perfect.

    ctrl..system..advanced..performance..settings..
deselect "Animate windows when maximizing and minimizing"
    That's my fix.

Though i'd add, unrelated to the beep, but on the subject of that particular window..
I also deselect the second one "fade or slide menus into view" too, helps prevent another problem I sometimes would have of menu items appearing only when mouse hovers/passed over them, a problem more likely to be evidence when viewing a computer with VNC, in my case, RealVNC.
