I have a toughbook, i know completely nothing about these. I have a charger that fits it and the battery light comes on red, the mp with arrow light comes on, and the light next to the battery light is on. I have put a random disc in and you can hear it loading although the screen never comes on. Is this something easy to fix? Please help me!!!

Try to hook it up on a monitor and let us know what come up. On the back of the unit there is a VGA port.Use it to hook it up to a monitor.

The red battery light indicates that the battery is bad and no longer accepting a charge. If you're getting no output on the screen when using an AC Adapter I would do what Ohlip said and check to see if you're getting a video signal out of the VGA port on an external monitor. If you are then there is a problem with the screen, this can range from a burned out fuse to a bad inverter or backlight, etc. Check the output first though

    Georgiagurl,
It would help if you gave us the model, look on the bottom CF-##xxxxxx. Also, try to let it boot up and when it stops making noise hit the F3 key slowly a few times.
