Hello, I have a cf18 and had to format it and split the hard drive into two partiions as it is going to be a car diognosis pc and can only have one manufature per partion, I have got everything working again except the buttons on the side and all the hot keys for volume ect. the panasonic site gives drivers for these but they dont seem to work. I had to get the digitized screen drivers from elswhere so wonder if anyone knows how to make the "hotkeys" work
??
it now has xp pro sp2 on it.
HELP!!!!! thanks

They should have a specific hotkey utility, so you probably need more than just drivers. Give tech support a call if you can't find them.
-
I have got the hotkey application all installed also the is a hot key settings util and in looks like it should work but it doesn't.
I did email panasonic but they suggested sending it back to their tech dept to reinstall original OS. -
I don't know what to tell you then...other than once you get it fixed, do a backup this time.

I have a similar problem i bought a second hand CF-18 and the previous owner had wiped the HDD and reinstalled the OS but with none of the original panasonic utilities can you tell me where you fouind the digitizer driver and if you resolved the problem of the hotkeys please?
cheers F -
Hello!
CF-18's!!!
The screen is kinda small isn't it?
Anyhow, go to http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wc...ePage?langId=-1&storeId=15001&catalogId=13401
(I'd paste that one) It is Panasonics support site. You will have to register, which used to take awhile for them to hit you back, but that was awhile ago, then you will be able to log on, & ALL the 18 drivers & info. that you could ever dream of are there for downloading. Manuals, bios, everything! Also, the tech support is really good believe it or not, so it is worth a call to them if you have questions.
I am now going to try dual o/s on the 18, mac & windows. We'll see what happens!
Good luck! -
that would be absolutely awesome but... a) it's American so i can't fill in some of the fields, b) i'm not a business customer more fields i can't fill in.
If anyone has a log in that i could borrow you'd be a god.
otherwise is there anything else anyone could suggest??
cheers F -
This is a dumb question but did you install the drivers from device manager? Does the 18 install that way?
-
PM me. I'll give you my login & you can use it for a day. Then I'll change the pw.

*sign* another unresolved thread
I have exactly the same problem and also can't register with Panasonic USA
Can anyone help?? -
I have never understood why people say they can't do this... or can't do that.
If you want it bad enough you'll find a way. What exactly is the problem? Are you not willing to lie to register on a site? Is your keyboard set to a different language? Is your ip address letting it be known that you are from New Zealand?
If you can't get around these small problems then you probably won't have any luck getting your notebook configured the way you want it.

Mmmm, Sounds like the tourist season must be heating up on the island!

Worked it out with help from someone helpful...
When you've downloaded the most likely set of hotkey drivers go to hardware manager and select the "unkown device", install driver by setting it to search the folder containing hotkey.inf. Done job, all working as it should, it's not especially bright for outdoor use but i'm liking the way turning it right down doubles the battery meters estimated run time.
Simple when you know how, simple to explain too -
hi everybody. it sounds like you guys need to use the Panasonic global site! http://panasonic.net/pavc/toughbook/ then select download center, then fill in the feilds. have fun!
