There I hope I brought that smooth enough to place this in the Panasonic section. Figure if I posted elsewhere no one would know what I am talking about as this is the rugged section.
I collect about everything rugged in the way of laptops and tablets. I've got a
few Getac's here that I want to add some toys to but need the schematic diagrams for the main board pins/connectors. After a dozen emails and a few phone calls to Getac I now know they are not willing to help me. Was hoping someone here could lend a hand.
The models I have are A320,A740,A770,M220,W130 but would be most after the schematics for the A770 and M220.
Before you all get pissed at me I also own these Toughbooks: CF-47,CF-72,CF-18,CF-19,CF-29,CF-30.
Here's my web-album for those interested, it's not nearly all of the stuff in my collection but it's a start.

WOW! Looks like you got quite a collection! IMPRESSIVE! That Miltope military laptop RARE looks like a TANK! probably tougher than the CF-30/31 I'd imagine!
I've always wanted to get my hands on a Getac B300 and an A790!
Sad to say, I don't have ANYTHING in the way of Getac... Sounds like they are as much of a pain in the as Panasonic with support.... -

Not something you want sitting on your lap for to long ( I can't feel my legs )
Thanks for the comment on my collection. The B300 is nice but abit bulky for me so is the A790 and the other briefcase getacs but they are so tough that I just had to get them.
I also sell/upgrade alot so when I get tired of something it just gets sold.
Currently in europe for work and have my parents ship me stuff from the states. -
What did that miltope run you? or what would you sell it for at least? lol

A couple of our members here have other rugged models
All have the same problem , lack of documentation , and lack of parts to fix these rare models
I stick to the Toughbooks as we have a great support community here on the forum and being quite popular ,parts are not an issue

as the parts are next to impossible to find.

Ohlip (Teo) has a Getac in his signature. There's a source if anybody is. I've got a trailer hitch on the Jeep. Maybe I should try one of these brutes.
Welcome.

They are not that bad to carry if you eat your Wheaties! The one I want to hop is my M220. This is in my opinion the best laptop I own, wel almost the CF-30 takes first place. But I take my Getac everywhere while my 30 sits on my desk looking sexy!
If I can score the pin-out for the option connector that looks like and IDE interface less 4 pins or so I can go about adding some stuff like GPS and WWAN. The nice thing is that like the toughbooks it has 4 connectors
(mmcx) on the mainboard for GPS,WWAN,BT and WWAN via pcmcia.

Just one last desperate cry for help getting the schematics for the
Getac M220. Anyone,,,,,,,please,,,,,,,,help -
I do have a getac W130, 1.6Ghz but I also can't find any schematic for this unit instead I used one of its external USB for GPS and closed it permanently outside the unit. I also replaced the DC jack connector with those from CF-28 dc jack coz it hard to find the right adaptor for the unit. I used comaq adaptor with 19VDC and right rated current and replaced the plug in connector to match the DC jack.

Also kind of strange is that the motherboard has provisions for 2 cpu'sthere is one bga 1.6 pentium M mounted but on the bottom of the board there is the same group of components and bga array to mount a second cpu. I am in no way able to perform a mod like that but it sure is interesting.

It is missing some parts but the most is there -
I feel like buying it just to have something to take to the internet cafés
It would be an interesting contrast to the Mac laptops that are common in those places -

isn't intimidating enough?
Paint your CF-30 Woodland Camo: that'll scare `em off. -
I havent thought about that, i'll have to do that sometime and see what kinda responses I get.
On a side note, I got into this toughbook thing when a friend gave me a CF-28, I fell in love and found out how cheap I could get this CF-29 for. So i took the 28 to a local computer shop to try and keep the business local and was gonna try and trade the 28 and a dell lappy for a DVD/RW drive or cash. they looked at the 28 like a cow lookin at a new gate, and when i told em the touchscreen worked perfectly he looked at me with a "WHO CARES?!" look and said "WOW" sarcasticly. needless to say they didnt get my business and never will. just thought kinda funny they had no idea what was sitting on their counter, but they were "computer experts". -

I have an inop CF-29 Mk1 unit (unidentified at this time: Mod# label missing and "no boot" condition) that has the "D-rings" on it (the same as our retired SBC units).
I may move them to my Mk5 if I cannot get the Mk1 operational (no hurry; to many other "irons in the fire" right now).
Now where did you get that "tactical sling"?
BTW: for the two of us it wouldn't be "Woodland Camo", but " ABUcam".
Personally, I wanted the "Smurf Blue" tigerstripe version
After all, blue is good enough for Spetsnatz. -
