    Good info!

Once I'm out in Oregon, I'm gonna try out a few of my ideas, but that'll end up on my list of things to try.

Just read a little tidbit about Duracoat, the guy clamed that he painted his parts two years ago and decided he wanted to change colors and tried paint remover to remove the Duracoat and it wouldn’t touch it and he had to bead blast this stuff off.
This paint should be as good as the powder coat that came on your unit and a lot easer to apply at home.
I hear they are offering some colors in a spray can now and if I find any more info I will share with you here.

By the way if any of you have painted your Toughbook or customized it in any way please share some photos with us.

So what you're telling me is that I should paint it with that stuff before I move, so I can glass bead blast it at work? ;)

Sadly though, it's pretty low on my project list. The only one I'd consider coating is my 800 that I'm keeping because it looks like it went to Iraq and took shrapnel. The two I'm selling aren't too bad...

Cadillac, I have 4 different color lids i painted for my to cf28, i sanded, primed and paint. i experimented with a clear coat finish over the paint, and have to say. I'm very pleased with the results. its nice and shiney two down side, its slippery and you need to let it cure for a good week before handling it. Other than that its all good. All i used was auto touch up spray paint in the can.

That’s a sweet looking rig you have there and it sounds like you might have a little horse power under the hood. ;)

On an alternate source for the Duracoat system:
    http://www.lauerweaponry.com/duracoatcolors.cfm?colortype=pattern&Category=240

They have Durafil (surface filler) and Duraflex (flexing agent) for the coating.

Also, I've noted quite a number of Duracoat products for sale on e-bay (cheaper, but not a large selection)

This is what I'm going with when I make the refinishing move...either Advanced Tiger Stripe, or Urban...not sure yet.

The blue box on the side is a TRENDnet 9dB Bi-directional Antenna. I used to have it on top. but was to bulky.

Anybody tried bedliner like you put in yourpickup bed? Ought to provide a good gripping surface and sure would be durable if my pickup bedliner is any indication.

I was gonna try it after I moved to Oregon, but making my Toughbook pretty on the outside is pretty down low on my priority list until then.

Feel free to try it out though and let me know how it turns out.

Dang, I was thinking about the rubbery pickup bedliner also. I was considering trying it, and then showing it here. But really, I'm kind in the same boat as Modly as far as priority goes.
