a KB from a VKBL03 will work but it doesn't have the icons on the Fn keys(some of them might but only saw one like this), Az has the stickers that he had made that fit above the top row. I bought 6 of those KB and will find a use for them one day.......Driller

Hello all again, couldn't find a thread for this exact question so this seemed good enough.

I have a cf 30 with what looks like a smashed touch screen under the screen face. Are any of the cf29 screeb parts compatiable with the cf 30?

    Thanks

    W

Everyone uses a metal dental pick to carefully remove a Touch panel from a CF 29 I imagine the same procedure would work on a CF30. I found the clear plastic protector on the non touch screens to be .040 or 1mm thick. Glass shops don't have it. Sign shops might. I found some for RC cars from a company called RJ Speed( my actual purchase was on ebay). I got an 11 x 16 sheet to cut down to size.

I am talking about the actual touch part of the screen not the protective film. I was able to remove it by heating it with a blow dryer on the edges and prying it up. Looks better but not perfect, think I might start watching ebay for a full bezel face/ protector/ touch assembly so it will then look near brand new.

    see my pics...

Looking for the old configurator I was to see my complete specs anyone have a dloaded version they can post?

    Thanks

    model is cf30kqpaxam

Yes that part is the actual touch panel. The non touch versions have a clear plastic panel on them that is .040 thick. It is glued on the bezel in place of the touch panel. It prevents and dirt or moisture from getting to the actual LCD.
If you remove the touch panel, a clear plastic panel should be glued on in place of it to protect the LCD.
I was not referring to any thin sheet that adheres to the LCD or touch panel.

    Thanks guys

I forgot the hypen in the configerator so it never worked for me.

Shawn I miss read, thought you didnt understand me but I guess its I who didn't understand you. :)

I see what you mean I am looking to replace the full screen face but should get something to protect it in the meantime.

Now a stupid question, what does the attenna do on the screen top? Is it for wifi? does it really do anything when pulled out? None of my cf29's or 52 have it.

    Thanks

    W

Sorry if I missed this anywhere but...

Is the cf-29 screen inverter compatable with the cf30? I have a cf30 with a flickering screen and think its the inverter. I have spare 29 inverters will have to take it apart to look but in the mean time anyone know this off hand?

One was $11.99 shipped and the other was $19.99 shipped but you really can't go by that because next week it might be $5.99 or $29.99....you must know how fleabay works ;)
