I have seen some random postings here from other members of Toughbooks they have seen in print ads, stills from a movie or commercial and such, well I have just recently caught up on a TV show that I have never seen called "The Wire". there are a bunch of CF-28's, CF-29's, CF-18's all over that show. right from season 1 up to the final season 5. Just thought I would share that little piece of useless info on the rest of the members. :)

Absolutely one of the best shows ever made. Lots of the same people involved in Treme on HBO, another winner.

I would think they are disposing of some "Pests" and "Varmints"....

I would only get one if the big button is labeled "SMITE!"

    Now I could use that!

It's a remote control head unit for a UAV. They've been implemented like this for about a decade; it's hardly top secret anymore.

Scope out the control head unit for these guys:

I was thinking it was a kind of remote for something. A friend of mine has been wanting one for a project he has been working on. He is a older electrician we have on the rig. Always doing some kind of robotics projects. This is the main thing he has been working on lately. DIY Drones

You see a Toughbook every episode on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Wherever they send the family on vacation, they have the Toughbook with them for the video conference calls. The have duct tape over the Panasonic logo so they must not be a sponsor, but it is a CF-30 plain as day (might be a 31 now, haven't caught the show in a while).

    Whale Wars ,
A pirate ship filled with a moron crew
Captain Kidd is rolling over in his grave

    Paul is a drama queen

The credibility of Sea Shepherd is less than 0 in my opinion

    Eww.

The IWC embarked on a 20 year mission to "retire" commercial whaling across the globe "in an orderly fashion" as a gruesome and barbaric practice that humanity had outgrown. That was in 1969. Now they're just lobbyist shills for the whaling industry, like every other sellout regulatory agency since the Reagan administration.

Whale Wars was created by the same morons who brought us The Island; there isn't one of them with any clue. About ANYTHING. They are no more related to the people who started Greenpeace than D!ck Cheney is; they're just there to feed the drama and collect a paycheck. Not one of them has the nuggets to sink a whaling ship; if they did, the show might actually have some value.

There's a reason my children will never have a chance to see a blue whale; it all boils down to dollars and lazy businessmen. Why are we even still talking about commercial whaling as if it were a valid point of view?

Oh yeah... I remember. We now live in an age where human life is worthless if it stands in the way of corporate profit; who gives a crap about whales?

    mnem
That's what's wrong with me - I grew up and I STILL give a crap.

PPS: We now return you to your regularly scheduled insanity... I think this thread got a leetle beet tangential.

"Last edited by mnementh : Yesterday at 07:34 PM. Reason: D!ck is a NAME TOO, you retarded smut nazi-bot!"

Of course there are certain Richards out there who deserve to be known by the scatalogical meaning of their nick names. As to the killing of whales, I'm hard pressed to think of something nasty enough to do to them (the hunters, not the whales). Mr. Cheney, however, could probably come up with something appropriate.

Yet somehow, I think he'd be cheering the whalers on... I am convinced the bit on that cartoon show with "Baby Cheney" biting the heads off small animals was not entirely fictional.

Are we talking broadcast with commercials, commercial free cable, rental, or theater? It matters. With "crossing guard" you would have put down your $20 popcorn/soda and fled the theater.

Edit: This assumes it was ever shown in a theater.

The Crossing Guard gets a rating of 6.3 out of 10 on Internet Movie Database.

Roger Ebert gave it a rating of 2½ stars (I believe his system is based on 4 stars).

    *Hisses at the Alliance sympathizer*

If you're a fan and you hate it cuz you felt Wash and Book's deaths were egregious and served no purpose that furthered the plot, I agree. If you feel Mal's behavior was completely out of character in many scenes and it was an unnecessary plot device, I agree. But one of the worst two movies of all time? I can think of hundreds of movies that were worse... and so can the guys at MST3K.
