Why is it a famous thing to sell TB without the caddies or batteries, i have noticed it for a while and have no idea why it is

For the HDD caddies it is pretty time-consuming to tear them apart to get the HDD; it is not unusual for them to send HDD, caddy and all to the scrap shredder or their secure disposal company. Either way, they're taken out of circulation and folks like us are left trying to find caddies & connectors to return otherwise functional laptops to service.
People who wholesale are interested in turnover; they'd rather sell it as-is than be bothered hunting that crap up. If they did, they'd expect to get resale prices, not wholesale or as-is prices. You can buy a brand-new current model laptop anytime now for $300-400. This drives down the prices on ALL used laptops, even specialty-market ones like these which ARE subjectively worth more.

It's not just Toughbooks, I see a lot of Dells and HP's that way to
-
Why would you search for Dell's and Hp's?

....Realy I just happen to be checking out a few ebay sellers like buybest13 ,14 , 15 and noticed they sell a crap load of Dells too

Nice save..

That makes total sense, i knew the government would remove the hard drives and i totally forgot how time consuming it is to get access to the TB caddies so its easier to toss it
It also makes sense that parting out things is more profitable sometimes, especially with cars
I usually never search anything other than TB however i have a Dell Latitude E6400 which is actually pretty cool as far as batteries go
They have the regular battery, the 8 cell and 12 cell and the cool thing the docked battery which covers the entire bottom
It looks really cool
genuine 9cell battery GN752 for Dell Latitude E6400 E6500 SERIES laptop AKKU | eBay
Combine that with the 12 cell and your straight for about 24 hrs lol, not only that but it provides extra protection for the bottom too
So as far as accessories go i think Dell wins, but TB is just too cool to pass up -
