I've picked up a Toughpad H2 cheap to play with and looking to upgrade it a bit.

It's health H2 model so I am guessing no gps in it, it has i5 2577m 1.7ghz with 4gb ram and a 160gb drive.

Have got an ssd from my old Lenovo x61 that i'm going to chuck in and i'm looking to upgrade the ram, I know it will take 8gb easily but I did see someone say they had 16gb, would this work on my model or was that in a later model?

Anything else that I can upgrade easy enough? Will be looking at putting in a gps module, maybe shoud have waited for one with one, but it was a price I couldn't say no to really.

Has anyone put windows 10 pro 64bit on an h2? it comes with 7 pro 32bit.

Well done, you have taught me how to search, I never knew that before.......

My questions still stand as I had searched and hadn't come up with an answer, can my model handle 16gb of ram, there are different models with different specs of H2's from different years, someone stated they had done it but didn't say what model type theirs was and the other question was has anyone put windows 10 64bit on there H2 and had it working decently.

Not much other info on this site for other upgrades hence the question.....

I have the 32 bit restore disk for the H2 if anyone needs it. I will never use it as I sold the 3 I had long ago.

Cheers, but I think i'm going to go windows 10, found that it can go on and work from this link:

    https://disqus.com/home/discussion/...oughbook_to_upgrade_or_not_to_upgrade/oldest/

160gb ssd, nope, 160gb sata, yep, to be exact it's got a hitachi hts543216a7a384

Am now tying to find a GPS module to add, I've also found the post that says 16gb of ram works fine, so will go with that as well.

I have an issue with the camera in H2 Mk1, driver is ok, in BIOS is enabled, but is not working. I updated the driver and the utility but still the same. tried with a different tablet (mk1) and the same problem. Does anyone know about this issue?
