    Toughpads beginning to appear for sale as surplus items

    Spotted two of them now - both FZA1's. One claims to be new the other used. One appears to be a pre-production sample unit. I've asked the sellers of both for some more details to authenticate them.

    Pricing still very high which is to be expected.

    I haven't seen any of the narrower screen versions.

    Who's got one (windows or android based) and what do you think of it/them?

    Saw one of them with a cracked screen for $299,almost jumped on it then called Heartland......$700 to replace the screen,ouch.

    Ouch indeed! When I first saw Australian pricing for FZ-A1's it was up around A$1600. I don't know what current retail pricing is, but $700 to replace the screen is steep. I guess, though, that the screen is a significant component that's integral to the mil-spec rating.

    I thought it was doable as the outer screen was cracked and the LCD was good,but Panasonic said it was a unit,thus the price.

    Found 4 of them from the same seller,$649 each factory refurbished on eBay. :D
