Good day,
I am doing some research into buying a few rugged laptops. One question I have about the Toughbook 31 would be the Max supported memory. I know the website states that the max it can be ordered with is 8GB. I also contacted Panasonic support and they just stated that it is "Not Recommended" to upgrade it to 16GB of memory. I was wanting to know if anybody had done this and if so have they ran into any issues.
Thank you for your time.

There shouldn't be any "issues" with 16GB, however, as far as Panasonic is concerned for warranty purposes on NEW units, there are a few caveats:
1) You HAVE to buy from an authorized dealer (Like Rugged Depot)
2) You HAVE to have "authorized" Panasonic RAM in the machine or it voids all warranties
3) The RAM upgrades MUST be done by an "authorized Panasonic trained tech"/integrator (Like me).
4) Panasonic doesn't sell any 8GB modules yet, so hence, "8GB max".
I don't work for Panasonic (And don't think I ever will lol), but I do work for Rugged Depot and we are AUTHORIZED to sell NEW and refurb units. If you need something let me know, my phone number is in my signature. Welcome to the Toughbook Forum
We do have a few members with a 31 and a Panasonic Rep that checks in every day that should be able to help you with it. I know my CF-53 has 16GB in it and my CF-52MK4 has 8GB and I can not tell the difference...is there a reason you need 16GB
OK I guess Rob found you
