On my 28 MK2 I ran one of these cables with the bulkhead SMA up to the old RIM location on top of the lid. I'm wierd and that's where I wanted to put it. Us old school retired cops liked our squad cars with lots of antennas even if they didn't attach to anything. I guess it carries over to my Toughbook.

I was looking for a source for these cables and didn't find many. Netgate was the only one that came to mind right off the bat. So I used the googler and found out that the Hirose U.FL connectors are also compatibile with connectors such as IPEX, IPAX, IPX, MHF, and AMC. I googled those and came up with this supplier.

Just wondering what you guys thought. It looks like the 24" cable is $10.73 each. Cheaper if you buy more.

Scott... You are a freakin' BRAIN! Great find! Yes... Netgate was where I used to buy a lot of stuff... Including the U.fl to SMA... BUT... They didn't provide a true bulkhead connector! Just the SMA ending... YOU had to find the washer and nut. (I never got that! Cost savings?)

Anyway... Good score... Looks like a wiener to me!

Well, I'll probably go ahead and order a couple of those wieners then just to have in the spare parts box. Like ammo and magazines you can never have too many spares..

Just ordered and the shipping charges looks like they are $7.00 pre order UPS ground. Not to bad. Plus they can also do custom orders.

Super-duper find! Been looking for some of these myself to see if I like the idea of maybe sticking a wi-fi antenna on the LCD housing instead of the paddle antenna option under the wristpads on my CF28.... the possibilities...
