This problem involved a CF-29ETKGZKM-B with a fresh XP-Pro SP-3 in a 40GB drive. Plugging in the USB GPS unit (A Prolific/Skytraq compatible generic unit) and starting an associated GPS reliant program such as Streets and Trips resulted in bluescreen and reboots at random intervals from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. After some time, it was noted that activity on the wireless system (Intell chipset) seemed to precede the bluescreening. Disabling the wireless in device manager stopped the problem and so a newer driver (ICS_Dx32.exe) was downloaded from the Intell website and installed. Problem solved! Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem...

Here is some things to look at as well

S&T apparently crashes with some NMEA messages which include satellite information ($GPGSV and $GPGSA).
Do a web search and you will find people that have reported this problem

Prolific drivers can be an issue as well , Its not common but sometimes a newer/different pl2303 driver solves it

An yes the intel wi-fi drivers can cause bsod errors
I always update to the latest drivers

    WOW!
I just received a CF-29ETPGZKM from the Bay. It looks like it was never used. I was confused why it was...BSOD. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for posting this.

Yes the first thing I do in uninstall the intel pro-set wifi utility incl drivers
And then install the latest wi-fi drivers, your built-in card is the intel 2200BG
I don't like the intel utility, I just configure windows to manage the conection
Don't forget to update windows up to sp3

There are other things that can give you the BSOD...

Wifi card, RAM (Both removeable and soldered on... And a few other things... You can search around for other causes if needed.
