What kind of poll is this that I can’t vote for Jack and Coke?

Rick, Mr Mnementh is correct with his advice on welder size and you will be a lot happier with a larger welder unless you only plan on doing spot repair. With a 20% duty cycle you can weld for two minutes then wait for eight minutes before welding again and with a 110 volt welder this is especially true. I had the big brother to the welder you are looking at (the 180 Lincoln) that I bought for doing some remote repairs and found it unusable for what I would consider welding it would die right at the two minute mark and if you tried to push it the weld quality was unacceptable.
As you know I have a fab shop with some high end welding equipment if you need some items built send me some plans and I’ll quote them for you.

Hey Toughbook...is this thread still goin'? How much longer are you going to take to make the decision on that stinkin' welder? For cryin' out loud, go buy the welder for Pete's sake before we all go blind waiting for the flash of armegeddon!! Remember, you're not tryin' to rebuild a bridge here....

Caddy... Thanks for the insight. Sorry.. the poll was only open for one month.

Silver... I still have to get a few more Ultimate Toughbooks sold as I plan on buying the Esab that was recommended instead of the Lincoln.

I just wish we all lived closer together, after the winning welder is finally selected, it would be a great excuse for a party! Not that any of us ever needed an excuse for a party! I know its one of those decisions where on the outside it should be a no brainer, but you just want the best welder for the best deal and have it last for some time to come.

Yeah... I do it too - or worse yet, I'll try and use my fingers on my Penabled Tablet PC and get all freaked out thinking it's broken for a moment, or sometimes I'll try and use my Wacom pen on my regular PC... D'OH!

    mnem
We won't talk about the preversions I've committed upon my eeePC...
