    Hi,

i just upgraded my CF-W8 to Windows 7 and device manager shows two "Unknown device:confused". I've tried just about every driver on the website mentioned by other users and still no luck. Can anyone tell me what these are and which drivers I need? I'm losing sleep here!

    Thanks in advance.

Try to use Windows update couple times. Usually drivers are as nonimportant update

    I have the same problem..

Those Drivers you need are ACPI Drivers..

Now, if anyone can help us find them, we'll BOTH be able to sleep at night. :D

A good trick to find out what an "UNKNOWN" drive is, is to open up Device Manager, select the PROPERTIES of the UNKNOWN drive and the select the DETAILS tab.

In THIS case, it's a no brainer, because it says right in the box ACPI/blaa blaa blaaa... But more often it will give you a DEV and VEN number (4 digits each, 0-9 or A-E). You enter those numbers into GOOGLE and you will get a listing of links, one of which is sure to tell you what the device actually is...

    Just FYI...

    Gfolla,

The drivers you want are the HOTKEY drivers...

    You can find them here:

Panasonic CF-18 Drivers | Toughbook Central

Specifically, you want to use the HOTKEY and the HKEYAPP drivers for those UNKOWN DEVICEs....

Make sure you choose the proper MKx for your particular CF...

    Hope this helps..
